Jim created the Playing Up programme for the National Youth Theatre, which was committed to delivering level 3 accredited learning to young people who were not in education, employment or training.  In its first year 14 out of its 18 strong cohort achieved places in top drama schools including RADA, Rose Bruford, ALRA and Central as well as leading universities Bristol and London Metropolitan.  

He is a trainer for Leap Confronting Conflict and for the past year has been leading the START programme at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith for young people who have been excluded from mainstream education. He has provided teaching, training and consultation for the Roundhouse, The Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, Cardboard Citizens and the NYT in peer mentoring and working with challenging behaviour and taught on BA and MA courses at Central SSD and Brighton University. He has extensive experience as an actor, director and teacher and performed the role of Liam in INSIDE, co-directing the Roundhouse production. He will direct HEARING THINGS in 2013.

Jennifer Irons

Jennifer Irons

Jennifer is an award winning independent dance artist with a specialism in inclusive practice and site-specific performance. She works internationally in theatre, film, television, and arts for social development projects.  She has been Associate Artist with Candoco Dance Company since 2006 and is currently part of East London’s Bank Program. There she co-choreographed the large scale Tomorrow’s Men project that aimed to re-engage young men through dance and was staged in Canary Wharf as part of the London 2012 Festival. She was the choreographer of 12 Moves Worcester in collaboration with SDNA TV and Mira Calix and was Assistant Choreographer on Birmingham Opera’s Othello, working with 300 members of the local community and professional cast. It was nominated for an RPS Award for Best Opera in 2009. In 2011 she won Best Choreography at the UK Music Video Awards for her work on Wave Machines’ Keep the Lights On.   Jennifer is the director of iRONiNC; a dance and physical theatre company and ironINC in Africa; an arts and cultural exchange program.  She is also Co-Artistic Director of make.AMPLIFY whose current projects include the multimedia and dance project for elderly people produced by DanceDigital and Apparitions; the larger than life video mapped projections featuring in the official opening of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in July 2013. Ira Mandela Siobhan

Ira Mandela Siobhan

Ira is an actor and dancer best known for his work with DV8 Physical Theatre. He trained as a dancer at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Over the last few years he has toured with DV8 in both Can We Talk About This? and To Be Straight With You, both of which he was heavily involved with the creative process. Ira’s other theatre and dance work includes FELA! At The National Theatre, The Lifeguard with The National Theatre of Scotland, Punchdrunk, Richard Alston Dance Company and Macbeth at The National Theatre Studios.  He recently worked with Akram Khan as his assistant movement director on the upcoming feature film Desert Dance and he is currently performing in Feast at The Young Vic.

As Peer Facilitator with responsibility for pastoral care at Generation Arts Ace brings the knowledge and experience of having trained with Generation Arts.  He is a successful graduate of the 2012 N7 project and was a member of the very first Future Stage Company graduating in 2013 and playing the role of Corey in Enough Said at The Arcola Tent (“…a presence on stage that shows much promise” ****The Upcoming).  As a mentor Ace has worked for the Mayor of London’s office and Hackney CVS where he delivers motivational workshops and public speaking on ‘stop and search’, improving relations between young people and the Metropolitan Police.  As well as Peer Facilitating at Generation Arts, Ace is a highly motivational fitness instructor, dancer and model.

Endy Mckay

Endy trained at Mountview Theatre Academy, graduating in 2004 with a BA (Hons) in Acting. She has since worked nationally and internationally in theatre, television, film and radio and she was a regular in Channel 4’s Bafta award winning comedy series Peep Show. Highlights include: Julius Caesar (RSC/Lyric Hammersmith) Two Gentlemen of Verona (RSC) White Open Spaces (Soho Theatre/National Theatre Sweden) Silence (Arcola Theatre) Bad Girls (ITV) Holby City (BBC) Memory of Water and The Lover (The Gale Theatre).  Her most recent credits include Parents for Sky, Black and White Riot for BBC Radio 4 Drama, Doctors, and the acclaimed Money with Nick Frost both for BBC and ITV1’s three part drama Murderland starring Robbie Coltrane. Endy is also a highly experienced drama facilitator and co founder of Outspoken Arts – an organization that creates and delivers bespoke performing arts and media workshops for mainstream and marginalized groups. It is a belief in the arts’ ability to communicate, integrate and empower that continues to be at the core of her work.
