As Company Manager at Generation Arts, Michelle Masangkay brings a wealth of experience to the role. Having trained in Drama at Roehampton University, she subsequently qualified as a Youth Worker and has combined her passion for theatre and her skills in supporting young people’s pastoral development ever since. She worked on community outreach projects for The Bush theatre and on the ground in at Big Local on White City estates. She has supported young people to access creative projects in music, media and drama at The Roundhouse, including Live Jam workshops, music production, street dance and the three-week ‘Represent’ devising project in collaboration with Playing ON and Clean Break. She is has supported disadvantaged young people to develop circus skills at Arts Depot. As Creative Youth Worker on National Youth Theatre’s Playing Up programme Michelle implemented quality youth work practice at the company to support disenfranchised young people to access acting training and achieve accreditation. Michelle was Creative Youth Worker at Lyric, Hammersmith for five years where she supported the pastoral needs of participants on the START programme, youth offending projects and the Lyric Young Company. She is a qualified Arts Award advisor and has trained in providing financial support for young people to manage everyday finances. Michelle is a founding member of Generation Arts.
